What is Intellipop with UTOPIA Fiber?
UTOPIA Fiber is a community-owned fiber-optic network that delivers internet directly to your home over a dedicated fiber line. Unlike cable or wireless, UTOPIA operates on an open access model, meaning the network infrastructure is owned by the community and service is delivered by local providers like Intellipop. This keeps prices fair, service quality high, and gives you the freedom to choose. Your $30/mo UTOPIA infrastructure fee covers the fiber line to your home, and your Intellipop plan covers your internet service and your customer experience.
Murray was one of the original 11 cities that helped launch UTOPIA back in 2002, making it one of the first communities in the country to invest in municipal fiber-to-the-home. That early commitment paid off, and today every address in Murray has access to the same fast, reliable fiber network.

How Does Installation Work?
UTOPIA Fiber handles the installation, and it's simpler than you'd expect. Your address determines whether your fiber line comes in overhead (from the power lines) or underground (through buried conduit). Either way, the result is the same: a dedicated fiber line running directly into your home.
1. Sign up and get scheduled
Pick your plan at signup.intellipop.com, and the UTOPIA Fiber team will reach out to schedule your install. Overhead connections can often be scheduled as soon as the next business day. Underground installs typically take about two weeks to complete.
2. Fiber gets pulled to your home
On install day, a UTOPIA technician runs a fiber line from the network into your house and installs a fiber modem. It's a small wall-mounted box that works like a modem for fiber. They'll place it near a power outlet, usually in a garage, utility room, or home office.
3. Plug in your router and go
Connect your wireless router to the fiber modem, and you're online. The technician runs a speed test before they leave to make sure everything is locked in at the speeds you're paying for. UTOPIA doesn't provide routers, but any modern Wi-Fi router rated for gigabit speeds will work.
We Pride Ourselves on our Service
Why Intellipop in Murray?
Murray has a habit of being first. Utah's first silver bars (1870). Utah's first free public swimming pool (1928). A founding city of UTOPIA Fiber (2004). UTOPIA's headquarters, today. We figured Murray deserved a fiber ISP that matches that pattern.
Intellipop was built on the UTOPIA network Murray helped create. Our founder lives here. When you call support, you're talking to someone who knows the difference between Fireclay and Winchester, who's been stuck in I-215 traffic, and who grabbed dinner last week at a spot you've probably been to.
Is Fiber Available at Your Murray Address?
Intellipop fiber covers most of Murray, with full service in ZIP codes 84107, 84117, 84121, and 84123, and partial service in 84124 and 84157. Fireclay, Winchester, Three Fountains, The Willows, Inverness Square, Murray Heights, Murray Park, and the Fashion Place corridor are all in our service area. What is the $30 UTOPIA Fiber fee?+
UTOPIA Fiber is a community-owned fiber network built and maintained by Utah cities - including Murray, which has been a member since UTOPIA's founding in 2004. They charge a flat $30/month fee for the physical fiber infrastructure, similar to a utility line fee. Intellipop covers the actual internet service. You receive two bills each month: $30 to UTOPIA Fiber, and your plan cost to Intellipop.
Are there contracts or cancellation fees?+
No contracts, ever. Intellipop is month-to-month and UTOPIA network access is also month-to-month. Cancel anytime with no penalty. Our current pricing is locked through January 2027, as long as our wholesale rates from UTOPIA remain the same.
What speeds do you offer in Murray?+
Four plans: 250 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps. All plans are symmetrical - same speed up and down - with no throttling and no data caps. Murray's dense, urban neighborhoods make it an ideal environment for fiber's full performance.
How long does installation take in Murray?+
If fiber has been previously installed at your address, we can typically activate service within 1 business day. For a new build where fiber hasn't been run yet, UTOPIA's physical installation typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Check your address at the top of this page to see your situation.
Is Intellipop local?+
Yes. Intellipop is a Utah company, and one of our founders lives in Murray. We're not a national cable company with a call center in another state - when you call us, you're talking to someone who lives in the same community. That's reflected in our 4.9-star Google rating across 1,450+ reviews.
Is there a data cap or throttling?+
No. Intellipop does not throttle your connection or cap your data. The speed you pay for is the speed you get, 24/7. Murray has one of the highest population densities in Utah - we built our network to handle it.
Which Murray neighborhoods does Intellipop cover?
Full coverage in ZIPs 84107, 84117, 84121, and 84123, including Fireclay, Winchester, Three Fountains, The Willows, Inverness Square, Murray Heights, the Murray Park area, and the Fashion Place corridor. Partial service in 84124 and 84157. Entering your address is the fastest way to confirm.
Is my equipment included?
Fiber modem included. For in-home WiFi, we offer managed WiFi at $12.95/mo, or you can bring your own router (we recommend Asus AX or AC lines).
Is Intellipop local to Murray?
Our founder is a Murray resident, and UTOPIA Fiber (the network we run on) is headquartered in Murray at 5858 S 900 E. Murray is one of the 11 Utah cities that founded UTOPIA in 2004. Intellipop's office and team are based in Payson, Utah.
Who is the best ISP in Murray?
We are biased, of course. We think it is Intellipop, and the one number that is not our opinion is 4.9 stars across 1,450+ Google reviews. Every provider on the UTOPIA network in Murray sells the same fiber connection, so what is left to compare is everything around it: no contracts, no data caps, a fiber modem included, and real people on the support line 24/7.
