What is the $30 UTOPIA Fiber fee?+
UTOPIA Fiber is a community-owned fiber network built and maintained by a group of Utah cities. They charge a flat $30/month fee directly to you for the physical infrastructure (the fiber lines and equipment), similar to a utility line fee. Your Intellipop plan covers the actual internet service that runs on that infrastructure. You will receive two separate bills each month: $30 to UTOPIA Fiber, and your Intellipop plan fee.
Are there contracts or cancellation fees?+
No. Intellipop has no long-term contracts and no cancellation fees. You can cancel at any time with no penalties.
What speeds do you offer?+
We offer 250 Mbps, 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps), and 10 Gbps plans. All plans include symmetrical upload and download speeds, meaning your upload is just as fast as your download.
How do I know if fiber is available at my address?+
Use the availability checker on this page. UTOPIA Fiber is active in more than 20 Utah cities and continues to expand. If your address is not yet covered, check back as new areas come online regularly.
How long does installation take?+
If fiber has previously been installed at your address, we can typically activate service within 1 business day. For a new build where fiber has not been run yet, UTOPIA's physical installation typically takes 2 to 3 weeks.
Is there a data cap or throttling?+
No. Intellipop does not impose data caps or throttle your speeds. You get the full speed you are paying for, all the time.
